Still a Ways To Go

When the freerice.com web site came online in October, it had words only taking you to "level 50." The web site at the time said that it was almost impossible to arrive at that level. I discovered that I could do it in a matter of minutes, and so I wrote a note to that effect to them. Perhaps stung by my comments, or probably realizing from a lot of other people that their words weren't difficult enough, the makers of the site have decided to add 10 new levels (51-60), "downgrade" the difficulty of many of the words (thus allowing for loads of new words in the levels below 51, too), and add some of the most obscure words that ever existed in English. In anticipating your question--of course there are better things to do with my time than learning all kinds of obscure words. I just haven't discovered what those things are yet...

Let's continue in this essay with a few four-letter words and then more five-letter words: (1) stum; (2) joss; (3) bola; (4)
